CongeNital TeliPEs AQuinOvarUS

today was the OT day in Orthopaedic ward...after changing i went to OT (i don't know which was that) n sir sohail was with an old lady having complaint of rotator cough syndrome or impingement syndrome. sir gave her intrarticular injection. he was telling to the anaesthesiologist that there are 2 approaches for it....Anterior and posterior.....he did by posterior route....n he palpated a bony landmark (I cudnt listen to what he said because he speaks too low) and 1 inch below that landmark he inserted a needle in horizontly into the joint to counter inflammation....then he briefed us quite comprehensively......

frozen shoulder was also discussed.....

2nd case caught my attention as she was a nursery kid.....and had the condition called congenital telipes aquinovarus ( A type of clubfoot–talipes in which the foot is inverted with the load bearing falling on the lateral border.).....she was a cute kid, was talkative....one of our lady senior was giving her false promises to get over anxiety of OT and she even was promising candies.....she felt pain while application of Plaster of Peris.
she started a poem during that treatment....i took pictures and recorded video also...although a short 1 but still will give clue to what was happening there....before going to OT she was saying that her mama would take her to shopping this evening and she would buy red shoes...THOSE WERE BEAUTIFUL DAYS WHEN BUYING SHOES WAS THE WORLD'S GREATEST NEWS....I MISS THEM.
oh n when she was asked about her best friend she told about one of her mam :p she was cute little patient....

but another cute patient a female of 11 days only....she had same condition as above kid....she was also crying like anything....one of our batch mates noticed that her tears are not coming out.:p....she even passed stools. during treatment n sir said..."i was the target, like the target killing"..:p

Many notable people have been born with one or both feet in "clubbed" condition, including Roman emperor claudius,  football players steven gerrad...and many more....
a tibial fracture patient was there also.....cleaning of wound and un-stitching was done...left the wound open and then he would be treated with external fixation.... grades of open fracture were also discussed....

a day full of learning....
